(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The key group organizing the anti-regime protests in Yemen calls for a mass rally against a power transfer deal signed by Yemen's Ali Abdullah Saleh, which grants him immunity from prosecution.
On Wednesday, Yemen's Youth Revolution called for the protests to be held on Thursday against the agreement proposed by the regional Arab grouping of the [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council.
Saleh put his signature to the deal in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh earlier in the day.
Under the accord, he will hand over power to Vice President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi in 30 days, while remaining ceremonially in power for 90 days.
Yemenis have been calling for the ouster of Saleh for the past 10 months. They also want him to face prosecution for killing hundreds of protesters during his forces' crackdown on the demonstrations and have called for an end to corruption and unemployment in the country.
Also on Wednesday, tens of thousands of Yemenis took to the streets of the capital Sana'a to reject the deal. Clashes erupted in the southwestern city of Taizz, when the regime forces opened fire on the outraged public.
Anti-government protesters are determined in their efforts to continue mass protests until all of their demands are met./129
